Blink-182 discuss legacy in Spotify documentary The Drop

The first part of Blink-182’s documentary in conjunction with Spotify has been released.

In the first part of The Drop, singer/bass player Mark Hoppus talks about the band’s decision to bring in Matt Skiba to replace Tom Delonge when he walked away.

And Hoppus also examines Blink-182’s legacy. He says: “Legacy is a subject that’s come up a lot in the past few years.

“It was crazy important to us that we keep creating new music. We didn’t ever, and don’t ever, want to become a greatest hits band.”

Delonge said in May that he believed he still had a future with Blink-182 after discussions with Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker. But Hoppus later denied he had been in contact with Delonge.

The new-look Blink-182 will release their first album with Skiba, called California, on July 1.
