Magenta leader Rob Reed has released a video to accompany his Chimpan A remix of solo track Marimba.

The original version taken from upcoming album Sanctuary II, was launched as a single last month.

The second take sees him reactivating the name of the band he formed with Steve Balsamo and Rob Thompson, who released their self-titled album in 2006.

Reed recently explained: “There are four mixes of the track. The Chimpan A remix is very modern and really powerful. The orchestral mix by Ryan Yard is dark and atmospheric, and the piano version is stripped back, and hopefully shows the melody at its best.”

Marimba (Chimpan A Remix) appears in the three-disc edition of Sanctuary II, and also on the Marimba EP, which is on sale now. The album arrives on June 10 and it’s available for pre-order.
