Bill Bailey and Peter Gabriel at the Progressive Music Awards

Bill Bailey

And so the 2018 Progressive Music Awards take place tomorrow. And we continue with our delving into the awards archive to bring you some of our favourite moments. Here, from 2014, are two of the funniest speeches we've ever heard, from when Bill Bailey presented the Prog God award to Peter Gabriel. We recall turning round with Bill in full flow to see Gabriel laughing hysterically, as indeed, were most of the room.

Al Murray joins us as host for the first time tomorrow night when Steve Howe of Yes will be honoured as Prog God.  Geoff Downes and Nathan James will perform a tribute to John Wetton prior to the awards themselves. You'll be able to watch the event live via the Prog Magazine Facebook page from 9.50pm. The Prog website and Twitter page will be carrying all the latest happenings from 7pm when guests begin arriving.

It promises to be a great night. We hope you join us. For now though, enjoy the great speeches from one of our greatest musicians and one of our funniest comedians.
