Green Day fans attending the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas at the weekend (October 21/22) were able to pick up an exclusive seven inch vinyl single from the punk rock superstars, featuring The American Dream Is Killing Me on the A-side, and a second brand new song, Look Ma, No Brains, on the B-side.

And having premiered The American Dream Is Killing Me, the first taste of their forthcoming 14th studio album at an intimate warm up show for the pop-punk weekender at the city's 1,000-capacity Fremont Country Club on October 19, Billie Joe Armstrong's band gave a debut to Look Ma, No Brains at the second of their two headlining shows at the the 85,000 capacity Las Vegas Festival Grounds last night (October 22.)

Watch the premiere performances of both new songs below:

At the band's show at the Fremont Country Club, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong revealed that the band will embark upon a US stadium tour next summer, with Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas in support.

The good news for fans in the UK and Europe is that a flyer showing the tour line-up promises, "UK / EU you're next".

US Summer Tour 2024 from r/greenday

Billie Joe Armstrong shocked Saturday night drinkers in a north London rock bar in May by jumping onstage to sing Dookie-era classic Basket Case with a disbelieving covers band.

Armstrong's spontaneous guest spot with covers band Borderline Toxic at Slim Jim’s Liquor Store on Upper Street in Angel, north London was documented on social media: the band posted their own footage of the performance of the Dookie-era classic on Instagram, with the caption: 'The moment your band gets joined on stage by your childhood idol to sing their own song with you… in your favourite dive bar!! 🥹 Billie Joe Armstrong… @greenday !! THANK YOU, YOU LEGEND! 🔥 This was the first band to get me into rock when I was 11 years old and I’m honestly just so made up 😅🥹 brb crying/screaming/spewing'

Green Day last visited Europe as part of their Hella Mega Tour.
