Mastodon have shared the second part of their online Crack The Skye documentary.

The band released part one last month in celebration of the album’s 10th anniversary, with the new five-minute film giving a behind-the-scenes look at how the record was created, and features live footage from the era, rehearsal clips and interviews.

Guitarist Bill Kelliher says: "Most days of the week, we get down around 11.30am or noon and just start going over everything over and over to a point where you don’t even know if it sounds good any more!

“Once you put it down on tape and you can put headphones on and listen to it, you kinda know what needs to go and what can stay, or if there’s something you need to play a little more.”

Check out the video below.

Mastodon will head out on the road with Coheed And Cambria on The Unheavenly Skye Tour from May, where Kelliher, Brann Dailor, Brent Hinds and Troy Sanders will play the album in its entirety.

To mark Crack The Skye’s anniversary, the band have also launched a new range of merchandise – including a picture disc of the record, t-shirt, jacket, poster and more.
