Brady Ebert, co-founder of Turnstile, and the fast-rising hardcore band's lead guitarist until August 2022, has been arrested on a murder charge, according to reports from the US.
According to an official daily arrests statement collated by law enforcement officers in Montgomery County, Maryland, Brady O'Brien Ebert, age 33, from Silver Springs in the state was arrested on March 31 on a charge of attempted second degree murder, and a second charge of first degree assault.
The incident, about which there are no further details at present, allegedly took place on March 29, and an arrest warrant for Ebert was issued the following day, March 30.
According to the website Lambgoat, Ebert made his initial court appearance yesterday (April 1), and is scheduled to return to court today.
Ebert co-founded Turnstile with fellow Baltimore hardcore scene musicians Brendan Yates, Sean Cullen, Franz Lyons and Daniel Fang in 2010, and played on the group's first three albums, 2015's Nonstop Feeling, 2018's Time & Space, and their 'breakthrough' record, 2021's Glow On. But in August 2022, Turnstile suddenly announced that they were "parting ways" with the guitarist.
"We are deeply grateful for our time together," their statement read at the time. "Our love for him continues and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward."
In February, Brady was fired from his most band, The S.E.T. (The Self Evident Truth), after writing a social media post accusing Turnstile of bandwagon-jumping on liberal political issues, and also financial mismanagement in regards to his time in the band. He also claimed that his former bandmates were falsely seeking to secure a restraining order against him.
Following his post,The S.E.T. responded by sacking Ebert, writing on Instagram, "Brady is no longer a member of The S.E.T. We will not stand by his ridiculous comments and behavior toward the members of our band and our community.."
