Incineration Festival, London’s long-running and much-loved celebration of unbridled metal extremity, is returning from a two-year, COVID-induced absence with its most ambitious and spectacular event yet.

Taking place on Saturday May 7, 2022 across numerous venues in Camden - from the iconic Roundhouse to the famed metal sanctuaries The Electric Ballroom, The Underworld and The Black Heart - the festival is headlined by none other than Norway’s revered and unassailable black metal gurus Emperor in their one and only UK show for the entire year.

If that’s not inducement enough, Incineration’s secondary headliner will be the international death metal supergroup Bloodbath, featuring Paradise Lost vocalist Nick Holmes alongside members of Katatonia and Opeth, all going back to their brutal, sacrilegious roots.

Next year’s festival is host to a further horde of bands who have long towered over the extreme metal landscape - from Norway’s true black metal vagabonds Tjsuder and Sweden’s kings of corpsepainted, armour-clad savagery Dark Funeral and compatriots and purveyors of the finest doom/death, October Tide, to London’s lords of sulphur-stained, progressive death/black metal Akercocke and North East England’s spirit-rousing black metallers, Winterfylleth.

While Incineration has always dug deep into the history of extreme metal, it’s also renowned for showcasing the following generations too. Also playing in 2022 are cult UK black/thrash outfit Hellripper, Greek demigods of groove and supercharged incantations Lucifer’s Child, US death metal filth-flingers Skeletal Remains, Spanish black/death atavists Noctem, and Noctule - the Skyrim-invoking black metal entity created by Svalbard frontwoman Serena Cherry.

As with exhilarating years past, Incineration will also play host to a metal merch market for all your vinyl, t-shirt and battlejacket-adornment needs, as well a final afterparty to take the revelry to ultimate levels of abandon and air-guitaring wizardry.

Incineration 2022 is not only a full-on unleashing of all the spirits held at bay by the scourge of COVID, it’s an unmissable event for all lovers of extreme metal under any circumstances. As such, tickets are going to get snapped up quicker than souls at a Satanic auction, so book early – like, now - to avoid a lifetime of disappointment and the likelihood of having to listen to your mates never shutting up about it. First-raising devilry and dishevelment awaits!

Incineration Festival takes place on Saturday May 7, 2022 at The Roundhouse, The Electric Ballroom, The Underworld and The Black Heart in Camden, London. Tickets are available from the Incineration Festival website.
