A blockbuster lineup, an incredible atmosphere and a festival at sea like no other - here's why you need to set sail at 70000TONS OF METAL 2027, the original, the world’s biggest heavy metal cruise
From its amazing bill to its myriad activities and attractions, 70000TONS OF METAL is the original and greatest metal cruise of them all!
Is there anything better than a heavy metal festival? A weekend of riffs, pits and memories with your fellow metalheads, all in the company of a ton of excellent bands? Well, what about a heavy metal festival on a cruise ship? OK, now bear with us: what about a heavy metal festival on a cruise ship that also doubles as a beautiful mini-holiday?
That's what you get with 70000TONS OF METAL, one of the most unique, celebrated and unforgettable metal experiences in the world. For 15 years, 70000TONS OF METAL has stood as the most famous metal cruise ship experience - a true festival-at-sea packing incredible lineups and an experience you'll never forget.
Next year is no exception. Setting sail from Miami, Florida on the Royal Caribbean’s luxury cruise ship Freedom of the Seas for five incredible days in January, 70000TONS OF METAL 2027 features one of its finest bills yet, including Arch Enemy, Exodus, Hammerfall, Moonspell, Rhapsody (playing their final shows outside of Latin America), Visions Of Atlantis, Warbringer and many, many more, with 60 bands playing in total.
Many of those bands will be playing the iconic Pool Deck Stage, the world’s biggest open air stage structure to sail the Open Seas! And don't worry about missing your faves: each band plays two sets on board, as well as the famous Official 70000TONS OF METAL All Star Jam.
Best of all? Because there's no VIP areas (EVERYONE at 70000 TONS OF METAL is a VIP!) and no assigned seating, this is one of the few festivals on Earth where fans and bands can truly blend together for an incredible atmosphere. There are also meet & greet opportunities with every band, and who knows - maybe you'll end up getting to chill with your faves at the hot tub or casino, or get to watch some music with them!
Also onboard the cruise ship itself are multiple indoor venues, pubs and 24 hour bars and restaurants, an ice rink, a full pool deck stage (including hot tubs for an extra bougie band viewing experience!), a casino, a day spa, an all-inclusive gym, a basketball court, a surf simulator, a mini golf course, a rock climbing wall, duty-free shopping and more! It makes 70000TONS OF METAL so much more than a ship with some bands on: this is a true festival and a self-contained holiday all at once.
There will also be karaoke, clinics and workshops with musicians the iconic 70000TONS OF METAL belly flop contest and more!
And if you don't just want a self-contained holiday, you get a true taste of tropical paradise too: on day three of the voyage, the Freedom Of The Seas will dock at Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic for a whole day, giving you the chance to experience a whole range of bonus activities, including artist-escorted shore excursions that will give fans the chance to enjoy beach days and trips with members of their favourite bands!
