When we say there’s no other festival like Spain’s Rock Imperium Festival, we’re not joking. Taking place this summer under the glorious Mediterranean sun in the historic city of Cartagena, Rock Imperium brings together an amazing line-up of bands in a stunning location for a festival experience like no other.

Now in its fifth year, Rock Imperium 2026 runs over three epic days from July 3-5, 2026 at Parque El Batel in Cartagena on Spain’s beautiful South East coast, and features a truly monumental set of international headliners.

This year’s extravaganza of heavy metal will see the legendary Iron Maiden bringing their acclaimed career-spanning Run For Your Life show to Rock Imperium. They’re joined by a pair of equally massive headliners in the shape of Dutch symphonic metal masters Within Temptation and Swedish power metal heroes Sabaton.

The killer bill features something for every metal fan, from 21st century heroes Trivium, Mastodon and Lacuna Coil to nailed-on crowd-pleasers Anthrax, Testament, Queensrÿche and The Gathering.

Also bringing the party to this year’s edition of Rock Imperium are Swedish hard rock heroes H.e.a.t., US prog metal pioneers Crimson Glory, denim-clad metal merchants Grand Magus, Scandi retro rockers Blues Pills, enigmatic multi-national provocateurs Dogma and many, many more.

But the stacked lineup is only part of the Rock Imperium attraction. Located in the gorgeous Murcia region of Spain, the city of Cartagena is one of the country’s most beautiful destinations, with flights from London to Alicante taking less than two-and-a-half hours.

As well as being steeped in culture and history and home to some of the region’s finest bars and restaurants, the area also boasts an incredible coastline to explore and amazing beaches to discover. Guaranteed sun, amazing food and drink, and plenty of time for a little rest’n’relaxation alongside your rock’n’roll? Beats eating a soggy burger while standing in a muddy field while you get soaked with rain, right?

Best of all, Rock Imperium is an absolute bargain for any rock fan who wants a unique festival experience. Day tickets start at just €95, with full three-day tickets at €235, meaning it’s easy to combine one of Europe’s best festivals and a mini-holiday for less than you’d spend at most mainstream rock festivals at home.
