Soundtrack:'s Tracks Of The Week

Hurrah! It's Friday again! As we welcome another weekend, here's our guide to the best new tracks that lit up our week.

Slash - World On Fire

The first cut from the iconic guitarist’s forthcoming World On Fire album - available as a Classic Rock Fan-Pack from September 15 - backs up bassist Todd Kerns’ claim that the album will be “sleazier, tougher and more dangerous” than its predecessors.

The Pretty Reckless - Messed Up World (F’ed Up World)

The latest cut from the US band’s hugely successful Going To Hell album, the controversial video features much misbehaving and frolicking from the always entertaining Ms Taylor Momsen, while also laying into cliched video tropes. Subversive.

Gerard Way - Action Cat

The first taster of the former My Chemical Romance frontman’s debut solo album, Action Cat is a super-perky, ultra-melodic pop rock anthem, which nods to both Way’s love of mid ‘80s British indie rock and his teenage Smashing Pumpkins fixation.

Aeroplane Flies High - Honey

DragonForce (featuring Matt Heafy) - The Game

Proper Heavy Metal, as Trivium’s frontman joins forces with the multi-national power metal heroes for this thrilling introduction to their forthcoming Maximum Overload album.

Rise Against - I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore

A bracing taster for the Chicago quartet’s forthcoming The Black Market album, due in mid July. Is it just us, or does the pre-chorus sound suspiciously like The Police’s Don’t Stand So Close To Me?
